    Things to Do Around Bow-Edison

Nestled at the end of the beautiful Chuckanut Drive are the small flourishing towns of Bow-Edison. Over the last few years, the area has slowly transformed into a foodie paradise. Everywhere you turn, you’ll find new, delicious dishes to try, usually incorporating elements gathered from the local farms. It’s well worth a day trip out to the rural communities to explore everything they have to offer. We’ve put together a list of some of the main attractions should you choose to take the adventure.

Things to do Around Bow Edison

    Take Chuckanut Drive

If you’re coming from the North, you can reach Bow Edison a couple different ways. The quickest route is whipping down I-5 to the Bow Hill Exit 236, but the more rewarding path can found down Chuckanut Drive’s winding road. The historic, century old highway offers views galore of the bay and a dappled, tree lit ambiance, both of which will make even the journey to Bow Edison unforgettable. If you’re the outdoor type, a trip down Chuckanut Drive also offers the opportunity to climb our beloved Oyster Dome Trail whose peak offers a stunning view of the Puget Sound.

    Visit Gothberg Farms

Get the authentic farm experience at Gothberg Farms, a must for anyone who loves cheese…and goats! On site, you’ll discover 40 or so LaMancha goats, which the family milks twice a day to create their award winning cheeses. Overall, the farm produces over 32 different varieties of cheeses, including some seasonal varieties. The farm swears you can “taste the essence of our Valley: the sea breezes, the grasses, & the surrounding farm activities.” Yum!

    Check Out Bow Hill Blueberries

Bow Hill Blueberries is the oldest blueberry farm in Skagit Valley. The family run farm grows their heirloom blueberries using organic methods, offering a positively delightful eating experience. Best of all, the farm is open year round and offers organic blueberry jam, frozen blueberries, blueberry marinade and more!

Grab a Meal at The Oyster Bar

Whether it’s for a hearty lunch on your way in to Bow Edison,  or a steak-and-seafood ending to a great day, you’ll find extraordinary service set to a stunning view at The Oyster Bar on Chuckanut Drive. Our fine dining restaurant has been an attraction on Chuckanut Drive for nearly as long as the highway has been open for travel. We curate seasonal dishes using local ingredients and offer a selection of oysters pulled straight from the bay you can see outside our windows. After a long day exploring Bow Edison, you’ll find our award winning wine cellar to be welcome attraction as well!

We hope you’ll make your way to Bow Edison soon and explore everything the area has to offer! The country side is a fantastic escape from the day-to-day. If you plan on visiting, give us a call at (360) 766-6185 and we’ll make sure to have a table waiting for you.

Featured Wine: Domaine Magdalena Cabernet Sauvignon

(Bin #1114 $87) This sophisticated, balanced Washington Red is everything a Cabernet from Red Mountain should be. It’s fine tannins accent the beautiful notes of blackberry, rose petal and earth. Domaine Magdalena is not only beautifully made but also thoughtfully made. The wine undergoes wild yeast fermentation, is unfiltered and is Demeter certified biodynamic. This wine can stand alone but would pair nicely with so many of our dishes including our vegetarian and wild game options.
